How Bexar Bath Desk works

Bexar Bath Desk is a free referral service for homeowners in San Antonio and the towns around it. We are not a contractor. When you send a request, we pass it to an independent local remodeling contractor that serves your area, and they contact you to see the bathroom, price the work and schedule it.

  1. Tell us what you want changed. Use the form or call. A photo of the room helps.
  2. A local remodeler calls you back. They set a time to see the bathroom and measure it. Ask the pro whether the estimate visit is free.
  3. You get an itemized price in writing before work starts. Compare it with another quote. You decide.

How we make money

The remodeling contractor pays us for the introduction. You never pay us anything. We don't do remodeling work, we don't set prices, and we don't sell products.

Who we refer you to

Texas has no state license for general contractors or remodelers. The state licenses the trades inside the job: plumbers through the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners and electricians through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. So we ask the contractor we refer to use Texas-licensed plumbers and electricians for that part of the work, to be registered with the City of San Antonio when the job is inside city limits, and to pull the permits the job needs. You can check every one of those yourself, and we suggest you do. How to check.

What we ask of the contractor

An itemized price in writing before any work starts, a written contract, and a straight answer about what is and is not included. If your experience falls short of that, tell us at (726) 227-2791.

What we will never do

We will never ask you to pay us, sign anything on your behalf, or push you to sign the same day. Texas law gives you time to cancel most sales signed at home. Your contract rights.

Where our information comes from

Every guide ends with the sources it used. The permit and housing numbers are our own analysis of public data from the City of San Antonio and the US Census Bureau. See the method.
